In continuing with our subject on Teen Dating Rights, Part II deals with the signs of an abusive relationship. Please share these behaviors with your teen to make them aware of the inappropriateness of such behavior. Have them take this quiz:
Has your boyfriend or girlfriend...
- shoved, kicked or slapped you?
- humiliated you or made you feel stupid?
- forced you to have sex?
- pressured you to use alcohol or drugs?
- been overly jealous or possessive?
- spread rumors or share private pictures of you on the web?
- harass you via cell phone or text messaging?
- give orders or make all the decisions?
- embarrass you in front of others?
- act in ways that frighten you?
- try to control who you see, what you do, or what you wear?
- monitor your computer or cell phone use?
- get angry at you often or quickly?
If you answered "yes" to any one of these questions, then you may be in an abusive relationship. Find someone you can talk to about this. You deserve better!

“We can now say that we are very satisfied customers of the Becoming a Love and Logic Parent” program taught by Sharon. We have seen remarkable changes with our boys (4 and 8). They are definitely becoming responsible decision makers…we do way less yelling, they are contributing more to the household and love it and as we practice more and more the interactions are easier and easier. They are proud of themselves and we are so proud of them. We can’t think of a better gift to give your children.”
